You record a video of your practice and send it to me. I send you back an inspiring video “fix” showing you exactly how to master your tough spots and polish your performance.
Q3. I'm self-studying—why do I need feedback?
YouTube tutorials are a great start, but they can’t hear you! My feedback acts as a “Musical Mirror,” catching small mistakes before they become bad habits.
Q4. Is an "Examiner" too scary for a young student?
Not at all! Think of me as your “Secret Coach.” My 48 years of experience means I know the shortcuts to success, and I share them with warmth and encouragement.
Q5. How do I get fast, strong fingers (Technique)?
Great piano playing shouldn’t feel like a struggle. I teach you “Smart Technique” that makes your fingers feel light and powerful, helping you play difficult pieces with ease.
Q6. What are Lead Sheets, and why are they better?
Traditional note-reading can be slow and frustrating. Lead Sheets are the “shortcuts” used by professional musicians to learn songs quickly and start making beautiful music right away.
Q7. Can I learn to "play by ear" (Ear Training)?
Yes! We use fun games on the Tone Savvy site (linked right here on Piano Spectrum) to help you recognize chords and intervals. It’s the easiest way to “hear” music like a pro.
Q8. I don’t play music—how can I help my child?
You don’t need to be a musician! I handle the technical teaching. Your only job is to record their practice on your phone and cheer them on.
Q9. What equipment do I need to get started?
Just your piano and a smartphone! You don’t need fancy microphones or cameras to get professional results from my feedback.
Q10. How quickly will I see improvement?
Immediately. Most students stop wasting time on “repetitive practice” and start practicing smarter. You will hear the difference in your very next session.
Q11. My child is 10—will they understand the "Fixes"?
Yes. I use simple, clear language that kids understand. If they can follow a story, they can follow my musical instructions.
